First Steps with Synton AI

Now that you've installed Synton AI, let's explore the dashboard and have your first conversation with the AI.

Opening Synton AI

1. Log in to your Shopify admin
2. Click Apps in the left sidebar
3. Click Synton AI

The Synton AI dashboard will open in a new tab.

Dashboard Overview

When you first open Synton AI, you'll see:

• Chat - AI Command Center (your main interface)
• Agents - Schedule AI business intelligence agents
• Billing - View usage and manage subscription
• Settings - Configure preferences and integrations

Dashboard Widgets

The main dashboard shows:

• Store Health - Quick overview of sales, orders, and traffic

• Recent Activity - Your recent AI conversations and agent runs
• Module Status - Installed modules and their performance
• Usage Summary - AI token usage this month

Your First AI Conversation

Let's start with a simple task. Click Chat in the top navigation.

Understanding the Chat Interface

The chat interface has:

1. Message Input - Type your requests here
2. Conversation History - All your past messages
3. Quick Commands - Shortcuts for common tasks
4. Context Panel - Shows what the AI knows about your store

The AI will analyze your orders and show a ranked list.

The AI fetches real data from your store.

3. Create a Discount

Create a discount code "WELCOME10" for 10% off the entire order

The AI creates the discount in your Shopify admin instantly.

Understanding AI Responses

When the AI responds, it may:

Show Data or Results

The AI will display information from your store in an easy-to-read format:

Your top 5 products this month:
1. Summer Dress - 45 sold ($2,250)
2. Beach Towel - 38 sold ($760)
3. Sunglasses - 32 sold ($1,280)

Ask for Confirmation

For important actions, the AI asks:

I'm about to create a 10% discount code "WELCOME10". Confirm?

Type "yes" or "confirm" to proceed, or "no" to cancel.

Suggest Follow-up Actions

After completing a task, the AI may suggest:

Discount code created! Would you like to:
- Set an expiration date?
- Limit to certain products?
- Create an email campaign to promote it?

Training Your AI

Synton AI learns about your store through memory. Help it understand your preferences:

Tell It About Your Brand

My brand voice is friendly and casual. I sell eco-friendly products.
Our target audience is millennials who care about sustainability.

The AI saves this in memory and uses it for content generation.

Set Preferences

Always use my brand colors: primary #2ECC71, secondary #3498DB.
When creating discounts, default to 10% off unless I specify otherwise.

Add Product Context

Our best-seller is the "Bamboo Water Bottle" - promote it in suggestions.
We have a summer sale coming up in June.

To view or edit saved memory, go to Settings → AI Preferences → Memory.

Quick Commands

Use these shortcuts for common tasks:

Exploring the Dashboard

Return to the Dashboard to see:

Click any quick action to start that conversation.

Usage Meter

Track your AI usage:

• Tokens Used - How much AI you've used this month
• Tokens Remaining - Your monthly allowance
• Cost Estimate - Projected cost if you go over

What are tokens?

Tokens are how AI usage is measured. Think of them as "words" processed by the AI. Most conversations use 1,000-5,000 tokens. Your plan includes monthly token credits.

If you're unsure, ask the AI:

What would happen if I change my product template?
Will this affect my existing customers?
How do I revert this change?

Common First-Time Questions

Can the AI break my store?

No. All changes are:

• Confirmed before taking effect
• Limited to safe operations
• Reversible when possible

The AI is designed to be safe.

What if I don't like a change?

You can:

1. Ask the AI to undo or modify the change
2. Manually adjust settings in your admin
3. Contact support for assistance

Do I need coding knowledge?

No coding required! Communicate in plain English. The AI handles all technical details.

Can I use Synton AI on mobile?

Yes! The web interface works on mobile browsers, though we recommend desktop for complex tasks.
