Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: July 6, 2026

Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everything you do with the Synton Service: your account, your hosted storefronts and websites, the emails and messages you send through us, the AI agents you run, and the data you process. It is part of our Terms of Service. You are responsible for compliance by your team members and anyone you allow to use your account. Violations can be reported to abuse@synton.ai — see Report Abuse.

Prohibited Businesses and Content

You may not use Synton — including hosted storefronts we serve for you — to sell, promote, publish, or distribute:

  • Anything illegal in the jurisdictions you operate in or sell to
  • Child sexual abuse material, or any content sexualizing minors (zero tolerance; reported to authorities)
  • Counterfeit goods, or goods that infringe trademarks, copyrights, or other IP rights
  • Illegal drugs, controlled substances marketed for unapproved uses, or drug paraphernalia where prohibited
  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or instructions for making them, where restricted
  • Stolen goods, or goods sourced in violation of sanctions or export controls
  • Malware, spyware, phishing pages, or content designed to deceive users into revealing credentials or installing harmful software
  • Content that promotes violence, terrorism, or hatred against people based on protected characteristics
  • Fraudulent schemes: pyramid schemes, fake reviews or endorsements, deceptive "free trial" billing traps, counterfeit documents or credentials
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery or content that violates the privacy or publicity rights of others
  • Products or claims that violate consumer-protection or health-claims regulations (for example unproven medical claims)

Email and Outreach Rules

When sending email or messages through Synton, you must:

  • Send marketing messages only to recipients where you have consent or another lawful basis (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, ePrivacy, CASL, and local equivalents)
  • Include a working unsubscribe mechanism and honor opt-outs promptly — never circumvent suppression lists
  • Identify yourself truthfully; no misleading sender names, subject lines, or headers
  • Not send to purchased consumer lists, harvested addresses, or role addresses obtained without any relationship
  • Use B2B prospecting data from our acquisition tools only for lawful, relevant business outreach, with clear identification and opt-out

We monitor deliverability signals (bounces, spam complaints) and may throttle, quarantine, or suspend sending that puts platform deliverability at risk.

AI Usage Rules

You may not use Synton's AI features to:

  • Generate content that is illegal, defamatory, or deceptive — including fake reviews, fake testimonials, or impersonation of real people or brands
  • Mislead consumers about material facts of your products, pricing, or business identity
  • Conduct surveillance of individuals, or infer sensitive attributes about identifiable people
  • Record meetings, calls, or interviews without legally required participant notice and consent
  • Instruct computer-use or automation agents to access systems you are not authorized to access, evade security controls, or violate third-party terms of service
  • Attempt to extract our models, prompts, or other proprietary components

Platform Integrity and Security

You may not:

  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without written authorization (responsible disclosure reports are welcome at abuse@synton.ai)
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, other merchants' stores, or our infrastructure
  • Access or attempt to access other accounts or other merchants' data
  • Circumvent usage metering, credit limits, billing, rate limits, or safety controls
  • Scrape the Service, or use it to run abusive scraping of third parties
  • Resell, sublicense, or white-label the Service without a written agreement with us
  • Use the Service to build a competing product by systematic extraction of its outputs or data

Fair Use of Resources

Hosted storefronts, builds, meetings, and media processing run on shared infrastructure. We may apply fair-use limits — compute, storage, bandwidth, concurrent builds, sending volume — and will contact you if your usage is far outside the norm for your plan. Deliberate resource abuse (crypto mining, proxying unrelated traffic, load testing without approval) is prohibited.

Enforcement

Depending on severity, we may:

  • Ask you to remedy the violation within a stated period
  • Remove or block specific content, pages, or storefronts
  • Throttle or disable specific features (for example email sending or agent autonomy)
  • Suspend or terminate your account, with immediate effect for serious violations
  • Report to law enforcement where legally required or where we believe there is risk of harm

We aim to be proportionate and to notify you of enforcement actions and how to appeal them at legal@synton.ai, except where notice is prohibited or would create risk.

Changes

We may update this AUP as the platform and the law evolve. Material changes are announced per the Terms of Service. The current version always lives at synton.ai/acceptable-use.
