Understanding Synton AI's plans, credits, and billing cycles.
Pricing Overview
Synton AI has two moving parts, and only one of them varies:
- A monthly subscription that includes a monthly allowance of AI credits
- Credit top-ups, if you want more credits before your allowance resets
Every app is included on every plan, including Free. There are no per-app fees and no per-app limits. What a paid plan buys you is AI credits.

On Shopify, the plan picker shows Free and Self Service ($49). The larger tiers are available at app.synton.ai.
Annual billing: save ~17% when you pay yearly.
No free trial. Signing up costs nothing and needs no card, and you can connect your store and open every app. AI actions require a paid plan.
Choosing a plan
Free — connect a store, explore every app, run the non-AI parts of them, and get unlimited store health and security audits. AI actions are paywalled.
Growth / Self Service ($49/mo) — 10,000 credits a month, about 333 a day, and up to 3 stores. Enough for daily AI chat, regular store management, and occasional agent runs.
Professional ($179/mo) — 32,250 credits, up to 3 stores. For teams running agents on a schedule and generating content regularly.
Business ($1,299/mo) — 292,500 credits, up to 10 stores. For daily agent runs across a catalogue, heavy content generation, and multi-store operations.
Enterprise ($3,999/mo) — 975,000 credits, unlimited stores, dedicated support, SAML SSO, DPA and custom SLA.
Understanding Credits
Credits are how AI usage is measured. Everything that costs us compute costs you credits: chat turns, agent runs, image and video generation, chatbot conversations, analytics sessions.
Cheaper and faster models cost fewer credits than the deepest reasoning ones, so a simple question is much cheaper than a complex analysis.
What things cost
Rough guide. Actual cost is metered on real usage, not a flat rate:
| Action | Approx. credits |
|---|---|
| Simple chat question | ~5 |
| Typical chat turn | ~15–20 |
| Complex chat with tool use | ~28 |
| Chatbot message to a customer | ~8 |
| Fully resolved chatbot conversation | ~100 |
| One analytics session recorded | ~4 |
| Marketing emails | 10 emails per credit |
Free (no credits):
- Navigating the dashboard and opening any app
- App configuration and settings
- Viewing reports and existing results
- Storefront widgets and their background jobs
Failed actions are never billed. Repeated operations get cheaper through caching.
Daily and monthly allowance
Your plan grants a monthly allowance and a daily slice of it (roughly a thirtieth). The daily figure smooths spend across the month rather than being a hard ceiling on ambition — unused credits roll over.
Rollover: up to 50% of your monthly allowance carries into the next month on paid plans. The Free plan does not roll over.
Viewing Your Usage
Billing → Usage
Shows credits used this period, current charges, commands run, and a daily usage chart. Below that, Usage by Feature breaks consumption down by what spent it.
You can switch billing periods with the period selector, and download any period as a PDF invoice or a CSV for accounting.
Buying More Credits
If you run out before your allowance resets, buy a top-up.
Billing → Usage → Top up credits
Packs: 1,000 · 2,500 · 5,000 · 10,000 · 25,000 credits. You can request any amount between 1,000 and 75,000.
Price: subscribers get 20% off the standard top-up rate. On the $49 plan that works out to $8 per 1,000 credits, so a 5,000-credit pack is $40. Larger plans get a better rate per credit.
Validity: top-up credits last 12 months, and are spent only after your monthly allowance is used up.
Credits arrive immediately. On Shopify the charge is added to your usage line and appears on your next Shopify invoice, so there is no separate approval step.
A paid plan is required. Top-ups are charged against your subscription, so there has to be one. On the Free plan the card explains this and links to plans.
Auto top-up is available in the same place: choose a pack and Synton buys it automatically when your balance runs low.
The monthly charge limit
When you subscribe, Shopify asks you to approve a maximum monthly charge for the app. Top-ups count against it, so a purchase that would exceed the limit is refused with a message telling you so. Only you can raise it, in Shopify.
Billing Cycle
Billing date: the same day each month, set by your signup date.
What's billed:
- The coming month's subscription
- Any credit top-ups bought during the previous period
Annual plans: the subscription is billed once a year at the ~17% discount. Top-ups are still billed as you buy them.
Allowance resets on your billing date. Unused credits roll over up to 50% of your monthly allowance; the rest expires.
Payment & Invoices
Shopify merchants are billed through Shopify. Charges use your Shopify payment method and appear on your Shopify invoice.
View charges:
- Shopify Admin → Settings → Billing
- Or: Synton AI → Billing → Usage → Download Invoice
Merchants on WooCommerce, Magento or a storefront we host are billed via Stripe.
Managing Your Subscription
Upgrading
Billing → Plans → choose a plan. Plan changes are prorated, so you only pay for what you use. A higher allowance is available immediately.
Downgrading
Billing → Plans → choose a lower plan. Downgrading reduces your monthly credit allowance. Every app stays installed and active — apps are not tied to plan tier.
Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep your current allowance until then.
Canceling
Billing → Plans, or ask the AI to cancel for you. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; nothing is charged after that, and your features keep working until then.
For refunds or a billing dispute, email support@synton.ai with your invoice number — the team handles these case by case.
Getting More From Your Credits
Be specific. A focused request costs less than a vague one, because the answer is shorter and needs fewer tools.
Ask for what you need. "Show my top 5 products" costs less than "show my top 50".
Batch related questions. One message asking about three products costs less than three messages.
Schedule agents deliberately. Agent runs are among the most expensive actions. Weekly beats daily unless the output changes daily.
Use the free surfaces first. Dashboard widgets, app configuration screens and existing reports cost nothing — check those before asking the AI to regenerate an answer you already have.
Plan theme edits before requesting. Each "actually, make it blue" is a fresh generation.
FAQs
What happens when I run out of credits?
AI actions stop and prompt you to buy a top-up or upgrade. Everything customer-facing keeps running: storefront widgets, app background jobs, emails already scheduled. Your customers never see any impact.
Do apps cost extra?
No. Every app is included on every plan, including Free, with no per-app fee and no limit on how many you install. Only the AI features inside them consume credits.
Is there a free trial?
No. Signup is free and needs no card, and you can explore every app, but AI actions require a paid plan.
Can I buy credits in advance?
Yes — see Buying More Credits. Top-up credits are valid for 12 months and are spent after your monthly allowance.
Do apps use credits when I'm not using AI?
No. App configuration, storefront widgets and background jobs cost nothing. AI-powered features inside an app — chatbot conversations, AI review moderation, content generation — do consume credits.
Am I charged for a failed action?
No. Failed actions are never billed.
How do I see what I'll be charged?
Billing → Usage shows the current period's charges in real time, and the period selector lets you review any past period.
