Settings Overview
The settings page has multiple tabs:
- AI Preferences - How the AI behaves and responds
- Memory - What the AI remembers about your store
- Conversation History - Manage past AI chats
- Integrations - Connect third-party services
- API Keys - Generate keys for external access
- Notifications - Email and in-app alerts
- Language - Interface language
- Privacy - Data retention and privacy settings
- Team - Manage team access (coming soon)
AI Preferences
Control how the AI assistant interacts with you.
Response Style
Location: Settings → AI Preferences → Response Style
Choose how the AI communicates:
Professional (Default)
- Formal, business-like tone
- Detailed explanations
- Best for: Team environments, official work
Casual
- Friendly, conversational tone
- Shorter responses
- Best for: Solo entrepreneurs, quick interactions
Technical
- More code and technical details
- Developer-focused explanations
- Best for: Developers, technical users
Concise
- Short, to-the-point answers
- Minimal explanations
- Best for: Experienced users, quick tasks

Professional:
I've successfully created a discount code "SAVE20" that provides a 20% discount on all orders. The code is now active and can be used by your customers. Would you like me to help you promote this discount?
Casual:
Done! Created "SAVE20" for 20% off. It's live now. Want help telling customers about it?
Technical:

Concise:

Default Actions
Location: Settings → AI Preferences → Defaults
Set default behaviors to save time:
Content Generation:
- Default brand voice: Professional / Casual / Creative / Technical
- Target audience: (saved from memory)
- Default word count: 100 / 250 / 500 / 1000
Discounts:
- Default discount type: Percentage / Fixed amount
- Default value: 10% (or your preference)
- Default duration: 30 days
Products:
- Default status: Draft / Active
- Auto-generate SEO: Yes / No
- Default tags: (comma-separated)
Example:
With defaults set:

AI Model Selection
Location: Settings → AI Preferences → Model
Choose which AI model powers Synton:
Claude Sonnet (Default)
- Balanced speed and intelligence
- Best for: Most tasks
- Cost: Standard
Claude Opus
- Highest intelligence
- Best for: Complex analysis, advanced content generation
- Cost: 3x tokens
Claude Haiku
- Fastest responses
- Best for: Simple queries, quick commands
- Cost: 0.3x tokens
Auto (Recommended)
- AI automatically chooses best model
- Simple tasks → Haiku (fast, cheap)
- Complex tasks → Sonnet or Opus
- Best for: Optimal cost and performance
When to change:
- Opus: Working on complex, critical projects
- Haiku: Doing many simple queries, watching budget
- Auto: Generally the best choice
Safety & Confirmation
Location: Settings → AI Preferences → Safety
Control when AI asks for confirmation:
Theme Publishing:
- Always confirm: Required for every publish
- Confirm major changes: Only big modifications
- Never confirm: Auto-publish (not recommended)
Data Operations:
- Confirm deletions: Yes / No
- Confirm bulk updates: Yes (threshold: 10+ items)
- Confirm irreversible actions: Always / Sometimes / Never
Spending:
- Warn at token usage: 50% / 75% / 90%
- Confirm large agent runs: Yes (>10K tokens)
- Block expensive operations: Never / At usage cap
Memory Management
The AI remembers information about your store to personalize interactions.
What's Stored in Memory
Location: Settings → Memory → View Memory
Categories:
Brand Identity:
- Brand voice and tone
- Target audience
- Unique selling points
- Brand colors and fonts
Business Context:
- Product types and categories
- Seasonal patterns
- Best-sellers
- Business goals
Preferences:
- Your preferred workflows
- Common requests
- Style preferences
- Typical discount amounts
Technical Details:
- Theme structure
- Custom code patterns
- Integration specifics
Example memory:
Brand Voice: Friendly and eco-conscious
Target Audience: Millennials (25-35), urban, sustainability-focused
Best Seller: Bamboo Water Bottle
Brand Colors: Primary #2ECC71 (green), Secondary #3498DB (blue)
Typical Discount: 10% for first-time customers
Seasonal: Summer sale June-August
Preference: Always preview theme changes before publishing
Adding to Memory
Method 1: Direct command
Remember: We run a flash sale every Friday at 3pm
Remember: Our audience is primarily located in California
Remember: Use "eco-friendly" more than "sustainable"
Method 2: During conversation
The AI automatically remembers important details you mention:
You: "My brand targets health-conscious professionals who care about sustainability"
AI: "I'll remember that your brand targets health-conscious professionals focused on sustainability. This will help me generate more relevant content for you."
Method 3: Memory Settings
Settings → Memory → Add Entry
Fill out form:
- Category: Brand Identity
- Key: Target Audience
- Value: Health-conscious professionals, sustainability-focused
- Priority: High
Editing Memory
View all memory:
Settings → Memory → View All
Edit an entry:
- Find the entry
- Click Edit
- Update value
- Save
Delete an entry:
Forget about the summer sale
Or:
- Settings → Memory
- Find entry
- Click Delete
Memory Best Practices
1. Be Specific
Vague:
Remember: My brand is nice
Specific:
Remember: My brand voice is warm and welcoming, like talking to a friend over coffee
2. Update Regularly
Seasons change, products evolve:
Update memory: Our best seller is now the Steel Tumbler (was Bamboo Bottle)
3. Organize by Category
Group related information:
- All brand voice details together
- All product info together
- All seasonal patterns together
4. Don't Over-Store
Only save information the AI needs frequently. Don't store:
- One-time details
- Temporary information
- Data that changes often
Conversation History
Manage your past AI conversations.
Viewing History
Location: Settings → Conversation History
Or ask:
Show my conversation history
Filters:
- Date range
- Topic (products, orders, analytics)
- Contains keyword
- Length (short, medium, long)
Searching Conversations
Find past discussions:
Search bar:
Search: "discount code"
Shows all conversations where you discussed discounts.
Use cases:
- "What did we discuss about the homepage redesign?"
- "Find conversations about loyalty program"
- "When did I create that summer sale?"
Exporting Conversations
Export options:
Single conversation:
- Open conversation
- Click Export → Format (TXT, PDF, JSON)
- Download
Bulk export:
- Settings → Conversation History
- Select conversations (or Select All)
- Click Export Selected
- Choose format
- Download ZIP file
Uses:

Deleting History
Delete single conversation:
- Open conversation
- Click Delete
- Confirm
Bulk delete:
- Settings → Conversation History
- Select conversations
- Click Delete Selected
Delete all history:
Settings → Conversation History → Delete All
⚠️ Warning: Deleted conversations cannot be recovered.
Privacy note: Deleted conversations are immediately removed from your account and permanently deleted within 24 hours.

What it enables:
- Meta Ads Optimizer feature
- Campaign creation and management
- Ad performance analytics
How to connect:
- Settings → Integrations → Meta
- Click Connect Meta Account
- Log in to Facebook
- Select your Business Manager account
- Grant permissions
- Confirm
Permissions requested:
- ads_read - View campaign data
- ads_management - Create and modify campaigns
- business_management - Access Business Manager
Disconnect: Settings → Integrations → Meta → Disconnect
Google Ads
What it enables:
- Google Ads campaign management
- Keyword research
- Performance tracking
How to connect:

- Click Connect Google Account
- Sign in to Google
- Select Ads account
- Grant permissions
TikTok Ads
What it enables:
- TikTok Ads Optimizer
- Creative generation

- Log in to TikTok

Email Services
Options:

How to connect:
- Settings → Integrations → Email
- Select provider
- Enter API key
- Test connection
Webhooks
What it enables:
- Real-time event notifications
- Custom integrations
- Connect to Zapier, Make, etc.
Setup:
- Settings → Integrations → Webhooks
- Click Add Webhook
- Enter URL
- Select events
- Add secret (optional)
- Save

Managing Integrations
View connected:
Settings → Integrations → Connected Services
Refresh tokens:
Some integrations expire. Refresh:
- Find integration
- Click Refresh Connection
- Re-authorize if needed
Disconnect:
- Find integration
- Click Disconnect
- Confirm
Data removal:
Disconnecting an integration:
- Stops data sync immediately
- Keeps historical data (30 days)
- Deletes connection tokens
API Keys
Generate API keys for external access to Synton AI.
What Are API Keys?
API keys allow external applications to access your Synton AI account programmatically.
Use cases:
- MCP Server (Model Context Protocol)
- Custom integrations
- Third-party apps
- Development tools
Creating API Keys
Location: Settings → API Keys → Generate New Key
- Click Generate New Key
- Name your key (e.g., "MCP Server", "Development")
- Select permissions:
- Read only
- Read + Write
- Full access
- Set expiration (30 days, 90 days, 1 year, never)
- Click Generate
Important: Copy the key immediately. You won't see it again.
Your new API key:
sk_live_abc123def456ghi789jkl012mno345pqr678stu901vwx234yz
Store this securely. It won't be shown again.
Managing API Keys
View keys:
Settings → API Keys
Shows:
- Key name
- Created date
- Last used
- Permissions
- Expiration
Rotate key:
- Create new key with same permissions
- Update applications to use new key
- Delete old key
Revoke key:
- Find key
- Click Revoke
- Confirm
Immediately invalidates the key.
API Key Security
Best practices:
- ✅ Never share keys publicly
- ✅ Use environment variables (not hardcoded)
- ✅ Set appropriate permissions (least privilege)
- ✅ Set expiration dates (rotate regularly)
- ✅ One key per application
- ❌ Don't commit to git
- ❌ Don't email keys
- ❌ Don't use in client-side code
If compromised:
- Revoke immediately
- Generate new key
- Update applications
- Review API logs for suspicious activity
Notifications
Configure when and how you receive alerts.
Email Notifications
Location: Settings → Notifications → Email

Billing:
- Upcoming payment

In-App Notifications
Location: Settings → Notifications → In-App
Configure notification badge and alerts:
- Show badge on dashboard
- Play sound for important alerts
- Desktop notifications (if browser supports)

Do Not Disturb:
Pause notifications temporarily:

Set quiet hours:
- Start: 8pm
- End: 8am
- Days: Weekdays
Unsubscribing
Unsubscribe from all non-critical emails:
Click "Unsubscribe" in any email footer.
Critical emails (always sent):
- Security alerts
- Payment failures
- Account suspensions
Language Settings
Location: Settings → Language
Available languages:
- English (default)
- Spanish
- French

- Italian
- Portuguese

- Chinese (Simplified)

Privacy & Data
Control how your data is used and stored.
Data Retention
Location: Settings → Privacy → Data Retention
Conversation history:
- Keep forever (default)
- Delete after 90 days
- Delete after 30 days
- Delete immediately after session
Module data:
- Standard retention (varies by module)
- Delete after 90 days
- Custom retention (contact support)
Agent results:
- Keep forever
- Delete after 180 days
- Delete after 90 days
Data Export
Request full data export:
Settings → Privacy → Export My Data
Includes:
- All conversations
- Module configurations
- Memory entries
- Agent results
- Billing history
- API logs
Format: JSON Delivery: Email link (ready in 24 hours) Valid: 7 days
Data Deletion
Delete specific data:
- Conversation history: Settings → Conversations → Delete
- Memory: Settings → Memory → Delete entries
- Module data: Remove module
Delete all data:
Settings → Privacy → Delete All Data
⚠️ Warning: This action is irreversible.

Privacy Settings

AI Training:
- Allow my conversations to improve Synton AI
Analytics:
- Share anonymized usage data

Third-party sharing:
- Never (default)
- Only with explicit consent
Account Settings
Basic account information.
Profile
Location: Settings → Account → Profile
Editable fields:
- Name
- Phone (optional)
- Company name
- Timezone
Password & Security
Change password:
Settings → Account → Security → Change Password
Two-factor authentication (2FA):
Add extra security:
- Settings → Account → Security → Enable 2FA
- Scan QR code with authenticator app
- Enter verification code
- Save backup codes
Backup codes:
Download and store securely. Use if you lose authenticator access.
Deleting Your Account
Settings → Account → Delete Account
Process:
- Confirm you want to delete
- Enter password
- Select reason (optional)
- Click Delete My Account
What happens:
- Immediate: Account disabled, AI features stop
- 30 days: Data archived, can restore
- After 30 days: Permanent deletion
Restore within 30 days:
Email support@synton.ai with subject "Restore account"
