Keyboard Shortcuts Reference

Master these keyboard shortcuts to navigate Synton AI faster and boost your productivity. All shortcuts work across Windows, Mac, and Linux (with platform-specific modifier keys).

Platform Key Notation

Throughout this guide:

⌘ = Command (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows/Linux)
⌥ = Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows/Linux)

Practice the "G" Navigation Pattern

The "G then [letter]" pattern is borrowed from Gmail and makes navigation super fast:

G D → Dashboard
G C → Chat
G B → Billing
G S → Settings
G A → Agents

Tip: Press G and you'll see a hint overlay showing available options.

Use Command Palette (⌘ K)

When you forget a shortcut, press ⌘ K to search for any action:

Type "agent" to see all agent-related commands

Customize Shortcuts

You can customize most shortcuts in Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts:

You: "Change the AI chat shortcut to Ctrl+Space"

AI: "I'll update your keyboard shortcuts:

Before: ⌘ / → Toggle AI chat After: ⌘ Space → Toggle AI chat

Your custom shortcuts are saved to your account and sync across devices."

Platform-Specific Notes

Mac Users

⌘ (Command) is your primary modifier
Most shortcuts follow Mac conventions
Use ⌥ (Option) for secondary shortcuts

Windows/Linux Users

Ctrl replaces ⌘ (Command)

Troubleshooting Shortcuts

Shortcut Not Working

Problem: Keyboard shortcut doesn't respond

Solutions:

Check if another app is using it:
- Mac: System Preferences → Keyboard → Shortcuts
- Windows: Check app-specific shortcuts
- Solution: Disable conflicting shortcut or customize Synton's
Browser extension conflict:
- Some extensions intercept shortcuts
- Try in incognito mode (extensions usually disabled)
- Solution: Disable extensions or use different shortcut
Input field focused:
- Some shortcuts don't work when typing in a field
- Solution: Click outside the field first, then use shortcut
Language/keyboard layout:
- Non-US keyboards may have different key positions

The shortcut overlay is smart and shows only relevant shortcuts for your current context.

Creating Custom Shortcuts

Via Settings

Navigate to Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts
Find the action you want to customize
Click the shortcut field
Press your desired key combination
Save changes

Via AI Chat

You: "Create a shortcut to open the Reviews module"

AI: "I'll create a custom keyboard shortcut for the Reviews module.
